I lived in one of my own architectural entourage the other day.
I was at the Astoria Park Pool with my friend last weekend. The scenery was as if we were living in one of our own idealized, socialist, utopian architectural renderings. The community pool, the diversity of people–in race and age, the general harmonious and happy mood of the people, the children splashing water having the most carefree fun, the concrete pool structure, the sunshine, the blue sky with white clouds, and of course, there were also birds in the sky. It was PERFECT. Like how every architect imagines his/her building will be used, everything worked out, and the building’s intended use was carried out and was successful. I was in my own rendering for a moment, in my own dream of utopia. Unfortunately, cellphones weren’t allowed past the locker area, I would love to freeze that moment to share with you all.
This is a photo of the pool from the Park, they were getting everyone out of the water as the pool was closing.
