I do art and design, but mostly architecture.

Welcome to New York City, “Babe”

Date : June 30, 2014

The City took me in with her open arms. Indeed she did, I am completely swallowed up by the city. Within the first year I arrived, I even got swoop into her judicial system. Life in the BIG city. It is really like in the movies, well, or maybe like an episode of a TV show.

How did it get here?

I still remember that day pretty clearly. I kept tripping over my own feet all day, as if life was trying to “break my fall;” or were they warning signs of danger ahead? First in the morning, after walking from the 200th street station to the 190th street station, because all the ticket machines at 200th weren’t working, I almost fell on my face at the entry steps to the subway station. I caught my balance and only got the heel of my palms dirty. Then during lunch time, on my way back to the office after picking up food from City Bakery, I kicked the curb and fell on my right knee and ripped holes into my new tights. Didn’t drop my food, but a number of people saw me, and all asked if I were okay. I got up pretty much instantly and reassured them I was okay. My knee was scratched up and the pavement took some skin off the top of my foot, but nothing too major. Maybe if I didn’t have these other accidents, didn’t already have the “injuries,” I wouldn’t have escaped that evening’s catastrophe.

It has been a few shitty years, I mean overall good (my own intellectual growth was great), but emotionally, I got involved with people that have been draining my happiness. When will this cycle end? Why is it so hard to just meet and talk to level-headed human beings…. Everyone with their secrets and issues.
